This year's Tomatoes

This year I decided that my tomatoes deserved a raised bed. Pre-made beds cost around $100 dollars. By making the bed myself I was able to get the bed, the highest quality planting soil and the plants for about $100. I will take a matching photo throughout the growing season to see the progress.

A little pre-dinner!

209 gin martini with asian tuna tartar make a great start to any evening. The tuna is courtesy of Le Bernadin, one of my favorite NY restaurants. Carol and I spent, or over-spent many a wonderful evening there.

Tomatoes

Here's the first real batch of heirloom tomatoes from a sunny spot in my backyard. I purchased the plants at the Marin Farmer's Market in San Raphael a couple months ago. Later today they will be combined with crumbled goat cheese and mixed with a olive oil and herbs from the garden.
